MEQ Live to become fully operational
We’re pleased to announce that we’ve joined forces with Meat & Livestock Australia and Ag-Tech start-up MEQ Solutions to take game-changing technology that predicts marble propensity, in situ, to the next phase.
Harmony has proudly been an early development partner of the MEQ Live technology since 2023. Our team has been using the tool at Dimboola Feedlot to help predict when cattle will reach their maximum marble potential, so we can give our cattle the best opportunity to perform.
Last week it was a pleasure to show the team from MLA how we use MEQ Live daily to make data-driven decisions that improve quality and drive efficiencies.
Under this new agreement, all parties will come together to transition the project from R&D to full-scale business-as-usual operations. This enables us to not only pinpoint the optimal processing window and improve feedlot management, but to also use the data to guide commercial breeding and genetic decisions back down the supply chain.
At an industry level, the project supports MLA’s strategic objective to accelerate adoption of objective measurement tools and genomic technologies, delivering measurable impact from genetics to grading.
With MLA’s continued support, we’re excited to see this next phase of the project come to life – and benefit Australia’s Wagyu industry as a whole.
